Meow Focus ("the Extension", "we", "our", or "us") is a productivity-focused Chrome extension designed to help users manage focus sessions, break reminders, and customizable website overlays.

1. Information We Collect

User-Provided Content

The Extension may locally store content that you explicitly provide, including:

• Uploaded GIFs

• Focus and timer settings

2. Website Permissions

The Extension may request permission to access websites that you explicitly add inside the Extension settings.

Example:

• facebook.com

Website permissions are requested only after direct user interaction. The Extension does not automatically access all websites.

3. Local Storage Usage

The Extension uses browser storage technologies such as:

• Chrome Storage API
• IndexedDB

These technologies are used solely for:

• Saving user preferences
• Storing overlay configurations
• Storing uploaded media locally
• Managing timer and reminder settings

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

Meow Focus does NOT:

• Collect browsing history
• Track websites outside user-configured domains
• Collect passwords or login credentials
• Collect payment information
• Sell user data

• Use hidden tracking technologies

5. Remote Servers & Data Transmission

Meow Focus does not require a backend server for core functionality.

Currently:

• No user data is uploaded to external servers
• No analytics or telemetry is collected
• No advertising SDKs are used
• No third-party trackers are integrated

6. Overlay & Website Interaction

The Extension injects overlays only on websites explicitly configured by the user.

Overlays may include:

• Break reminders
• Motivational content
• Uploaded media
• Countdown timers

The Extension does not read, extract, or transmit webpage content.

7. Permissions Explanation

Used to detect when a configured website is opened.

Used to display overlays on user-approved websites.

Used for break reminders and focus timers.

optional_host_permissions

Website access permissions are requested only for domains explicitly approved by the user.

8. Security

We aim to follow industry-standard practices to protect locally stored data.

However, no software can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting access to their own devices and browser profiles.

9. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under 13 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Third-Party Services

Meow Focus currently does not integrate with:

• Advertising networks
• Analytics providers
• External tracking systems

If third-party services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
